Kwanzaa Grandison

“Being a Scar Soldier means you have a whole army of warriors supporting and believing in you. Life throws you unexpected curveballs, and it’s up to you to adapt. When you feel topsy-turvy, it’s nice when others help you through by building community and celebrating the baby steps. It reminds you that you’re not alone in the battle. You can do anything you put your mind to! You’re a survivor who doesn’t back down, even if you have to step away for a moment and comeback later. When you feel lost, but are still powering through…..we share each others journey, even though it may not be the exact same. We all are those zebras…not every stripe is the same, yet we are one body. That’s what being a part of the Scar Soldier Army is to me. ‘An Opportunity For Growth Comes When I Am Weakest.’ Let that sink in, and repeat it as often as needed.” ~KG 9/13/20
